St George Illawarra star forward Trent Merrin has signed a lucrative three-year deal to join the Penrith Panthers, according to reports.

According to News Corp, Merrin will earn $750,000 a season when he joins the Panthers at the conclusion of the 2015 NRL season.
The reports says Merrin knocked back a $1 million per season deal with the New Zealand Warriors in favour of joining the Ivan Cleary-led Panthers.
Merrin has made 107 appearances for the Dragons and won the 2010 premiership under Wayne Bennett.
The 25-year-old NSW representative missed out on a Test debut with the Kangaroos after suffering a shoulder injury in the lead up to the Four Nations.
