Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has completed a £9.8m transfer to Guangzhou Evergrande, the Chinese club have confirmed.
The £17m Brazilian was one of seven players Spurs bought with the money recouped by Gareth Bale’s world-record sale to Real Madrid the summer before last.

But he failed to live up to expectations at White Hart Lane, scoring 10 goals in 67 appearances in total and in particular falling out of favour after the sacking of Andre Villas Boas in December 2013.
He has reunited with former Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, who previously extracted the 26-year-old’s best form at international level, at Guangzhou, where he has signed a four-year contract.

Paulinho has won 32 caps for the Selecao senior team, but none since their home World Cup in 2014.
He is expected to be followed out of White Hart Lane by other 2013 flops Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches this summer.
