The 18-year-old attacking midfielder only signed a permanent deal with the Blues yesterday after impressing in an extended trial since the summer.
The Dutch outfit, who have an official partnership with Chelsea, also confirmed that loanees Sam Hutchinson and Gael Kakuta would be returning to Stamford Bridge.
“Bertrand Traore is generally seen as a talent. He is an attacking minded player, which we are very excited about and we are familiar with his qualities. It is expected that he will develop over the next six months in Arnhem,” Vitesse’s technical director Mohammed Allach told the club’s official website.
Traore is already a full Burkino Faso international, having made his debut a day before his 16th birthday, and featured in last year’s African Cup of Nations.
Kakuta, meanwhile, returns to Stamford Bridge after failing to make a single league start for Vitesse this season.
The 22-year-old Frenchman is likely to leave West London this month or next summer.
Likewise, English defender Hutchinson has made just one sub appearance this season for the Dutch feeder club.
