The supporters at the Westfalenstadion want Kagawa back in Germany.
Having failed to play at all in the 2013/14 season, Borussia Dortmund have started a campaign to re-sign Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United.
The movement is under #FreeShinji and is already gathering pace as the Japan international continues to struggle to adapt to life at Old Trafford.
Kagawa signed for United last summer after two impressive years in the Bundesliga that saw the 24-year-old help Dortmund to successive league titles.
However, once in England the Japanese midfielder did not find things so easy and was used sparingly by Sir Alex Ferguson and played just 26 matches in all competitions.
An injury to Kagawa meant the attacker spent two months on the sidelines in late 2012, but the Dortmund fans clearly still feel their former star is being underused with the Red Devils.
The #freeshinji thing isn’t half talking off with it trending in Germany. I’m worried someone will literally kidnap him on the way to ASDA.

Free Shinji might as well trend worldwide after all. There are more Utd fans tweeting #freeshinji than Dortmund fans.

Kagawa has admitted that the attacking midfielder would like to return to the Westfalenstadion one day, but wanted to try and earn a place under new United manager David Moyes before then.
