Senegalese may have played his final game for the Magpies.
Newcastle United front man Papiss Cisse will make a final decision on his future with the Magpies when he returns for pre-season training at St James’ Park early next month, according to reports on BBC Sport Online.
Rumours have been rife of late suggesting that the Senegal international would be quitting the north-east club this summer following Newcastle’s announcement that from next season the club will be carrying the name of the money lenders on their shirts,
That, though, is problematic for the Newcastle attacker, who as a Muslim would be going against his religious beliefs were he to wear the new-look shirt in the upcoming campaign.
However, it is understood that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is also unwilling to compromise at present, despite the fact that Cisse has netted 26 goals in 61 matches in all competitions, including 21 strikes in 50 Premier League outings, since joining the club from SC Freiburg for £9 million in Jan 2012.
