Reds still hope to conclude the transfer at some point this week however.
Liverpool target Iago Aspas still has plenty of offers on the table with which to decide from this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The young Spaniard’s club, Celta de Vigo, have already agreed a transfer fee of 10 million euros for the 25-year-old to join the Merseyside giants at Anfield from next season.
However, the player himself has still to agree personal terms and undergo a medical with the Reds, with the Liga season having only just come to a conclusion last weekend.
And now, according to a source close to the club, many other teams from across Europe are also said to be interested in Aspas.
“Celta have more offers than just the one from Liverpool,” a deal insider told MirrorFootball.
“There are offers from other Premier League sides, and from Italian and German teams that have qualified for the Champions League.
“They also have a very good offer from Benfica.”
“However,” he added, “Iago wants to play in England, and his preference is still for Liverpool.”
“I believe this will all be resolved either this week or next.”
Aspas, who is contracted to Celta until June 30 2017, managed to feature in 36 matches in all competitions for the struggling Spanish outfit last season, netting an impressive 12 goals in the process, including 12 strikes in 33 league outings as Celta managed to avoid relegation on the final day of the campaign.
