Shakhtar Donetsk star Douglas Costa has begged the club to allow his dream move to Chelsea to go ahead before the Blues are able to make a move for top target Juan Cuadrado, according to the Daily Mirror.

Fiorentina have already knocked back an approach from the Blues for the Colombian international as they look to recoup the full £26.8m of his release clause, a number Chelsea have so far yet to reach.
Because of that, they have turned to the Brazilian wide man as an alternative – a move that Costa is eager to make, though he has been forced to speak with the club in order to ask them to lower their own £30m valuation.
“I put my situation to them and they said they would try to help me. Now, we’ll see if it comes to an agreement,” he said.
Costa also highlighted the possibility of playing under Jose Mourinho has one of his main resins for wanting the move.
“To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player… but really, what catches my eye is the coach,” he added.
“He is very intelligent and has been a successful coach wherever he’s been. This is one of the things that would make me happy to play at Chelsea.”
