Richardson was cut by the Indianapolis Colts after performing horridly despite lofty expectations. He was drafted in 2012 with the third overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
After his rookie season, the Browns traded him to the Colts for a first-round pick. Richardson rushed for 3.1 yards per carry in his stint with the Colts while being unable to win the starting job even when Ahmad Bradshaw suffered a season-ending injury.
The Colts became fed up with him showing up to practices overweight while he failed to notify the team of a family emergency before skipping a practice. He was suspended two games as a result.
It remains to be seen whether Richardson can make the most of his fresh start and showcase his talent that led NFL teams to view him as a blue-chip NFL Draft prospect.
