Chelsea are expected to sign Augsburg defender Baba Rahman imminently.
According to ESPN FC, the 21-year-old has passed his medical with the Stamford Bridge club.
The Ghana international looks set to leave Germany after just one season with Augsburg.
Chelsea have been keen to add a left-back to their squad since Filipe Luis left for Atletico Madrid earlier this summer.
Rahman could cost Chelsea up to €30m, which is a lot for a player who has only represented his country 11 times at senior level.
Chelsea are also keen to buy a new centre-back. They have eyed Everton defender John Stones, for whom they have made three bids.
All of them were turned down though, including their most recent £30m offer. Everton boss Roberto Martinez has said that Stones is not for sale.
