These players will be instrumental to their side’s chances of Premier League glory…
Manchester United: Robin Van Persie
Surprise, surprise, it’s RVP. United have the brilliant Dutchman to thank for winning back the Premier League title from rivals Manchester City last season – as his late goals regularly snatched them three points. He finished the season as the Golden Boot winner for the second consecutive year, and is favourite to do so again this term. In United’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, RVP had a poor game, and the difference in the team’s cutting-edge when he wasn’t playing well was clear for all to see. Van Persie was the reason United won games last term when they didn’t play at their best, and David Moyes will be desperate for him to start firing on all cylinders soon.
Manchester City: Yaya Toure
The African powerhouse is the most physically dominant midfielder in the Premier League, and can take the game by the scruff of the neck when he’s at his best. With a wealth of attacking talent ahead of him, Toure’s partnership with Brazilian Fernandinho in midfield will be the cornerstone of City’s chances this year. He’s already scored two world-class freekicks this season, and Sky Blue fans will hope to see plenty moments of Toure brilliance.
Chelsea: Eden Hazard
Despite the overload of attacking midfield options at his disposal, Jose Mourinho rates the Belgian prodigy as his best. Hazard has fantastic close control, is a brilliant dribbler, and can score and provide goals. He will be given the freedom to express himself down either flank, while interchanging positions with Oscar and new signing Willian. Hazard has the potential to develop into of the world’s best players, and could do so under the guidance of the legendary Portuguese boss.
