Eden Hazard doesn’t have a goal yet this season, but he isn’t blaming the team for its early struggles.
With just 4 out of 12 points so far this season, Chelsea is realizing the difficulty behind defending their Premier League title and Eden Hazard has an explanation.
According to the Mirror, Hazard believes that Chelsea have a target on their backs because they’re the champions and everyone else is out to get them, even using the word “kill” to describe their rivals’ treatment of them.
“It’s difficult to play as a champion because everyone wants to beat you, everyone wants to kill you,” Hazard said.
Chelsea current sit 13th on the table, while their most bitter rival Arsenal are 6th, with Manchester United 5th and Man City leading everyone at 1st with a perfect 12 for 12.
“We wear the gold (champions) badge and it’s very good,” the reigning Premier League MVP said. “We had a fantastic season last season. If we could do the same this season we’d be good.”
Hazard was the Premier League Player of the Season last year after scoring 14 goals from the midfield and already had a goal this time last year.
