Arsenal-linked superstar Edinson Cavani has apparently handed in a transfer request at Paris Saint Germain.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan, who scored six goals in 10 Champions League games this season, is said to be a £55m summer target for Arsene Wenger’s Gunners.
And his chances of moving to the Emirates Stadium appear to have been boosted significantly, with the Metro reporting that he has asked to leave Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
PSG have previously stated that Cavani would not be leaving, but his latest demands could well have changed the game.
Arsenal are unlikely to be the only club in for the former Napoli playmaker. Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly keen.
Cavani has been a regular starter for PSG in Ligue 1 this term. He has started 26 league games, made five substitute appearances and scored 12 goals.
