Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani could leave the Copa America after learning that his father was involved in a fatal crash.
Judicial sources in Uruguay state that Cavani’s father was driving a truck when he knocked down and killed a 19-year-old motorcyclist on Tuesday.
He is being detained in the town of Saito, and Paris Saint-Germain striker Cavani may reportedly request compassionate leave to be with his family.

“We have spoken with him to give him all our support but other very personal things can derive from that state he is in,” Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“He is affected by it, as anyone in a similar situation would be. We’ll let time pass so he can adapt to the situation.
“From our team’s point of view he is a player with bags of experience and we will keep talking with him. I am confident he will put the pieces in their place so he can focus on the game.”
Cavani, 28, has been linked with a move to the Premier League with either Manchester United or Chelsea this summer.
