The game used Woods from 1998, right until 2013, but parted company with the 14-time Major champion as his career continued into decline, and did not release an updated version of the game last year.
Woods will be sick of the sight of the 25-year-old, who not only has succeeded him in the gaming world, but also became sportswear company Nike’s poster boy for golf, a title that Woods had held for most of his illustrious career.
The news has become the latest knock for the 39-year-old. Throughout his early years on tour, most were certain that they were watching the man who would not only break Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 Major Championships, but smash it. But the American has failed to win any of the sport’s biggest events since he won 2008 US Open in incredible fashion. He was forced to play 91 holes, seemingly on one leg before he had edged out Rocco Mediate in a play-off.
Constant injuries and revelations about his private life have severely damaged his legacy, and forced the legend on many occasions into a sabbatical from the game, and this now appears to confirm that most have written Woods off from ever matching past glory.
