England all-rounder Tim Bresnan has joined the Hobart Hurricanes ahead of the forthcoming Big Bash season.
The 29-year-old will arrive in Australia in late December as replacement for Darren Sammy, who leaves halfway through the competition to join the West Indies camp ahead of the ICC World Cup.
“The KFC T20 Big Bash League is a great competition,” Bresnan said in a club statement.
“I have been lucky enough to watch it over the last three of four years and I think it is great, they put on a proper show and I can’t wait to get a taste of it.
“It’s a massive competition and the format works really well and is something that the rest of the world can take on.”
Bresnan will play against former England teammates Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen in the competition.
