Jordan’s Sussex teammate backs him to replicate shorter format success in Tests.
England pacer Chris Jordan’s Sussex teammate Steve Magoffin reckons that the feisty fast bowler can replicate his shorter format success with England in the Test arena as well.
Jordan his been picked in the Test squad to face Sri Lanka in the first Test at Lord’s on June 12th, and Magoffin feels that this is the right time for the Three Lions to blood in Jordan.
The 25-year old seamer has been impressive with the ball in a couple of major limited overs tournaments for England so far, and also claimed a career best 5/29 against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded ODI series.
“He is performing out of his skin at the moment. Chris has worked hard since coming to the club last year,” Magoffin was quoted by BBC Sport.
“He is dedicated to his game and improving, and is so precise with everything. We are excited for him in the changing room and certainly wish him all the best if he plays.”
England captain Alastair Cook also hinted that Jordan warranted a Test call up after having impressed with the bat recently for the English, and he seems to have the requisite lower order batting skill that the English look for in their third seamer.
