It comes after he managed just three runs during the MCC’s opening innings, capping off a poor return to cricket for the 30-year-old.
According to SportingLife, Cook attempted to dispatch a short ball from Jack Brooks but only found the waiting Adil Rashid at midwicket.
Despite the best efforts of Cook’s potential England opening partner Adam Lyth (113 & 46*), the MCC went down by nine wickets.
It means Cook will head into next month’s tour of the West Indies on the back of two poor batting performances.
Despite his less-than-impressive form over recent months, Cook last week slammed the ECB for sacking him as one-day captain, saying England needed “more leadership” during its World Cup debacle.
