Lancashire bowler returns to give England options.
Left-arm spinner Simon Kerrigan has been recalled by England for the second Test against India, which begins at Lord’s on Thursday.
Kerrigan, 25, has made only one previous Test appearance to date, conceding 53 runs in eight overs against Australia at The Oval last August.
The Lancashire bowler has been in decent form this summer, taking 28 County Championship wickets at an average of 34, with best figures of 4-68.
Kerrigan is the only player to be added the England squad following the first Test at Trent Bridge.
The first Test ended, predictably, in a draw on Sunday, as both sets of bowlers struggled with a very slow pitch.
England only got to bat once and captain Alastair Cook’s poor run continued as he was dismissed for five after facing just 10 balls.
Cook ended the match on a high note though. With the game drawing to a close, he gave himself a bowl and claimed the wicket of Ishant Sharma, who edged to Matt Prior.
