9. Leighton Baines
Against the lesser lights of international football, Leighton Baines has shone for England, and his performance against Poland was impressive.
It is no exaggeration to say that the Everton man offers an attacking threat similar to that of Dani Alves for FC Barcelona, and his left footed delivery from set pieces offers England another dimension.
His lack of experience against the best the world has to offer in the UEFA Champions League, as well as the best sides at international level, means that he may struggle to retain his place in the starting line-up for England ahead of Ashley Cole.
However, he will be most unfortunate to miss out if that proves to be the case.
