Three Lions a chance after two outstanding knocks from Eoin Morgan, Tim Bresnan.
England posted 243-9 Sunday against a rampant Australia bidding to wrap up the one-day series at Sydney Cricket Ground.
Alastair Cook won the toss and chose to bat, but despite plenty of starts no one went on to make a big score.
Eoin Morgan was the best with 54 while Tim Bresnan smashed 41 off 29 balls to bring up the total.
Australia stifled England with brilliant fielding and tight bowling. Xavier Doherty returned figures of one wicket for just 28 runs off his 10 overs, including two maidens.
Nathan Coulter-Nile picked up three wickets for 47 off 10.
Austalia won the first two games of the five-match one-day series, following their 5-0 Test series victory.
