After James Anderson became England’s leading wicket taker on Sunday, who are the men that he has left in his wake?
3. Darren Gough
The Yorkshireman took 466 wickets in all forms of the game, bursting onto the international scene during England’s tour of New Zealand in 1994. He didn’t have to wait long for his first victim, dismissing Kiwi Martin Crowe in only his first over in international cricket.
Forming a deadly bowling partnership with Andy Caddick, Gough was named in Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the year in 1999. He last played for England in 2005, when he first played the Twenty20 format and claimed three wickets.
