Argentinian ace will fly to London tonight.
Roma starlet Erik Lamela is expected to fly to London tonight before undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed switch to Tottenham.
The 21-year-old is finally set to see the transfer saga surrounding his future concluded in the next day or so as he arrives in England tonight before carrying out the necessary formalities tomorrow.
With Roma set to announce the signing of former Fiorentina striker Adem Ljajic, they have now given the green-light to Lamela’s exit after first bringing in his replacement.
Media reports claim that he will join Spurs in a deal worth €35m, but the fee has not yet been confirmed by either party as there are likely to be various performance-related bonuses attached to the deal.
Nevertheless, the terms of the agreement have now been agreed according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, and the talented youngster looks set to finally clinch his move to the Premier League.
Lamela scored 15 goals in Serie A last season, and had been widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in the league.
His departure is likely to be met with frustration by Roma supporters, who have also seen Pablo Osvaldo and Marquinhos sold this summer.
However, with new coach Rudi Garcia bringing in the likes of Morgan De Sanctis, Mehdi Benatia, Kevin Strootman and now Ljajic, the Giallorossi arguably have a stronger all-round squad as opposed to having a few talented players.
The sales have also allowed them to deal with the financial implications of Daniele De Rossi’s decision to stay, while Francesco Totti is also likely to be offered a new deal.
