Simon Goodwin will join the Melbourne coaching panel, ending speculation of a move to the now-vacant coaching role at the Adelaide Crows.
Essendon assistant coach Simon Goodwin has accepted a position at Melbourne, joining the Demons’ coaching panel.
The move ends speculation that he would become Adelaide’s senior coach after Brenton Sanderson was sacked on Wednesday night.
Goodwin now appears the likely man to succeed current coach Paul Roos when he hands over the senior coaching reigns in 2016.
The two-time Crows premiership-winner has been an assistant at the Bombers for the past four seasons.
Melbourne will hold a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
More to come…
