Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly furious with Jose Mourinho over his harsh public treatment of banished club doctor Eva Carneiro.
Mourinho publicly slammed Carnerio for being “naive” by rushing on to attend to Eden Hazard in the final minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City.
Chelsea were already down to 10 men because of Thibaut Courtois’ sending off, and Mourinho was incensed that Hazard had to leave the field to leave the Blues with nine men.
The Portuguese has now apparently banned Carnerio, who has been first-team doctor at Chelsea since 2011, from the bench for the huge Premier League clash with Manchester City this weekend.
His treatment of the 41-year-old has been widely criticised, and the Daily Mail understands that Abramovich is among those who strongly disapprove of Mourinho’s actions.
The Russian billionaire is worried that Mourinho has exposed Chelsea to possible legal action amid reports that Carnerio is considering suing the Stamford Bridge club.
The Gibraltar-born medic also wants a public apology, but Mourinho is firmly maintaining his stance that she will not be allowed to attend games in the future.
