Gunners let themselves down badly at Goodison park…
Here’s how we rated the Arsenal players following today’s horror show at Goodison Park…
Wojciech Szczesny – 5/10
Not to blame for any of the goals as such, but hardly put in the type of commanding performance Arsenal fans would expect of a no.1 keeper.
Bacary Sagna – 5/10
Was solid for most of the game, but had a nightmare for Everton’s third, giving the ball away on the halfway line after holding onto it unnecessarily.
Per Mertesacker – 5/10
Looked a shadow of the player he is when Koscielny plays alongside him. His lack of pace was exposed on numerous occasions, and he failed to organise the defence into a solid line all match.
Thomas Vermaelen – 4/10
It’s a sad fact for the Belgian defender, but nowadays, he simply isn’t as good as the injured Laurent Koscielny. Per Mertesacker looked uncomfortable next to him all afternoon, and he was especially shaky when dealing with crosses.
Nacho Monreal – 5/10
The Spaniard came in for the injured Gibbs, but did his chances of keeping the spot in the side no favours whatsoever. Gave the ball away far too many times, and couldn’t deal with the strength of Lukaku, or the overlapping Coleman.
