The proposed loan move that would’ve taken young Chelsea winger Christian Atsu to Everton on a loan deal is on the verge of collapse, report the Mirror, due to concerns that the Stamford Bridge club have over the amount of game time that would be given to the Ghanaian by Roberto Martinez.
Atsu, who spent last season loan in the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem, had looked set for a move to Goodison Park, but it has now transpired that Everton manager Martinez would see him as a back-up member of his squad rather than a genuine regular starter, which has caused concern at Chelsea.
This could open up the possibility of Atsu going to a different Premier League club, with the likes of West Ham United also having been linked with a move for Atsu during the summer.
The former FC Porto man is yet to make a first team appearance since signing for Chelsea last year, but is now back in training with the Blues whilst his immedaite future is resolved.
