Duo leave Goodison Park.
Greek striker Apostolos Vellios has left Everton following the termination of his contract.
Vellios joined the Toffees from Iraklis Salonika in January 2011.
The 22-year-old made 22 Premier League appearances for Everton, including three starts. He scored three goals for the Merseyside club.
Vellios, who represented Greece at various youth levels, spent the final months of this season on loan at Blackpool, where he featured just twice.
Manager Roberto Martinez told Everton’s official website.”I think it’s been a disappointing season for himself, but he’s always had a terrific attitude and always a real desire to try to work hard for the team.
“He’s probably in a position now where, at a very young age still, he needs a new challenge and a new environment to show what he can do.
“We wish him well and I’m sure every Evertonian will follow me with that.”
Mason Springthorpe has also left Everton. The 19-year-old’s contract had expired.
Springthorpe joined Everton from Shrewsbury Town in February 2011. He did not make a single first-team appearance for the Toffees, but he appeared on the bench on multiple occasions.
