Everton manager Roberto Martinez is considering moves for both Samuel Eto’o and Salomon Kalou, both formerly of Chelsea, before the end of the summer transfer window.
According to the Times, Eto’o is among Martinez’s top targets upfront along with the possible loan signing of Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile the Daily Express reports that Lille forward Kalou is also on his radar in the final week of the transfer window, though Sunderland may currently be the favourites to bring in the Ivory Coast international, who has been in fine form in Ligue 1 since leaving Stamford Bridge two years ago.
Everton have already made a raid on Chelsea this summer, spending a club-record £28m to sign Romelu Lukaku from the Blues.
