Flanagan and Sinclair might be sweating on their futures but surely they’ll be offered new deals by the Reds in the coming weeks and it’s simply a matter of brinksmanship or logistics.

The only really blow will be the loss of Milner who Manuel Pellegrini is thought to be a massive fan – but considering the Chilean himself isn’t likely to be there next season, he won’t be too upset if the ex-Aston Villa fan quits the club as well.
