The Frenchman, who also played for Arsenal for a brief period towards the end of his playing career, has impressed in his coaching career so far, being linked with a number of big clubs.
Garde left Lyon at the end of last season and is seemingly set to make his comeback in management in time for next season, when he will be brought in to replace temporary head coach John Carver.
