Liverpool rumours
The Senegal international, who left Chelsea for Turkey in the summer, made his last meaningful contribution to the club with his first half goal against Liverpool in a 2-0 win, a defeat that ultimately cost them the Premier League title.
Although the moment more famously remembered now is Steven Gerrard’s slip that let Ba in, it was the awareness and composure of the former Newcastle United man to make the most of the situation that punished the Reds and condemned them to defeat.
Ba will now be hoping he can make a contribution for Besiktas in tonight’s game, with the club looking to avenge that 8-0 defeat on Merseyside in the Champions League back in 2007.
