Everton are odds-on to complete a deal for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans before the close of the transfer window.
Leading bookmaker SkyBet has the 27-year-old priced at 4/5 to move to Goodison Park this summer following a surge of bets.
Evans has won three Premier League titles with the Red Devils, but fell out of favour under Louis van Gaal last season and appears to be firmly out of the Dutchman’s plans.
The Northern Ireland international was not included in the squad for United’s 1-0 opening-day win over Tottenham Hotspur, despite both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo being unavailable.
Everton are the clear frontrunners to sign Evans, with West Bromwich Albion next favourites at 12/1, followed by Arsenal at 16/1 and Southampton at 20/1.
The Toffees are in the market for a new defender after allowing Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz to leave, and may need two should John Stones quit for Chelsea.
