Villa’s victory over West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park was disrupted moments before the final whistle by fans running onto the pitch. There was then a full blown pitch invasion once the game had actually ended.
Seats were also thrown into the home crowd by the visiting Albion supporters, but as yet nothing has been said about that.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis described the scenes as “disgraceful” and expressed his “deep concern” for his players and fans during the celebrations.
Reading fans also staged a pitch invasion following their 3-0 victory over League One side Bradford, with just one fan entering the playing arena while the game was still ongoing.
Reading lost their semi-final 2-1 to Arsenal, but Villa manager to overcome Liverpool by the same scoreline to book a return trip to Wembley.
