Don’t shoot the messenger – it sure as heck seemed like something LVG would do… Does Van Gaal have another major striker on his shopping list?
Though Man United may still have interest in Bayern Munich star striker Thomas Muller, they have yet to make a bid for the Bundesliga scoring machine.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the recent reports that Man United had put forth a £69.6 million bid for Muller are false. The report stated that no bids have been made for the 25-year-old German striker – who former Bayern Munich and current Man United boss Louis van Gaal gave his big break to back in 2009.
The bid, if real, would have shattered Man United’s previous record bid for Angel Di Maria last summer.
Muller is coming off yet another strong year with his 3rd straight season with 13 league goals and 20+ total goals. He has also been sensational for the German national team, recording six goals in Germany’s run to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final.
