Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin remains supportive of Malayia coach despite Chonburi FC draw.Football Association of Malaysia Secretary General Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin has expressed his support for national head coach Datuk K.Rajagopal after recent criticism.
Rajagopal has come under fire after the national team failed to beat Thai club Chonburi FC in a friendly match but Hamidin has come to his defence by commenting on the determination of performance despite the underwhelming result.
He also praised 57-year-old for giving more players a chance to get experience the game by making a number of substitutions during the half-time interval.
“I can see that players performed well last night and they tried really hard to score a goal until the final whistle,” Hamidin is quoted as saying by Goal.com.
The goalless draw on Tuesday night prompted a backlash from critics who lambasted the national team for losing it’s fear factor towards the opposition.
However, after the game, Rajagopal professed his satisfaction with the result and performances and the final result pales into insignificance.
“To be honest, I am satisfied with our display today,” he told reporters.
“I think we played very well and there are lots of positives that we can take from this match.”
