AIFF vote out new format
After a unanimous decision by the AIFF, it has been announced that the Federation Cup will return to knockout format.
India’s most prestigious Cup tournament will be held in the first two weeks of January, it was originally planned for a home and away format to be used, but the AIFF voted for the traditional group stage and knockout format.
There will be four Groups of three sides, with two slots yet to be taken up. The Groups are below.
Group A Churchill Brothers, United SC and Pune FC
Group B Sporting Clube de Goa, East Bengal, Bengaluru FC, Rangdajied United
Group C Salgaocar, Mohun Bagan, Mumbai FC, Shillong Lajong
Group D Dempo SC, Mohammedan Sporting, Mumbai Tigers,
