Coach Azuan Zain is losing patience with the Haiti international after a series of poor performances.
FELDA United head coach Azuan Zain hinted that he could axe foreign striker Leonel Saint-Preux for the forthcoming Malaysia Cup campaign.
The Haitian import arrived from Victory Sportif Club mid-way through the Malaysian Super League season but has failed to hit the heights expected of him and managed to score just once from 11 matches for the Settlers as they were relegated.
An inferior goal difference saw FELDA drop into the Premier League and unless he improves, Saint-Preux now faces being left out in the cold by Azuan as a consequence for his meagre return with the tournament just two weeks away from starting.
“FELDA signed Leonel to score goals to stave off relegation in the second half of the season but he failed to deliver,” Azuan told The Star.
“Unless there is a major improvement in his form, I would place my faith [in] the local strikers for the Malaysia Cup campaign.”
FELDA will be unable to bring in a new foreign player to replace the 28-year-old, should he be dropped, meaning Razali Umar Kandasamy, Rudie Ramli and Shahrizal Saad could be asked to lead the attack by Azuan.
