Roared on by a pumped-up Celtic Park, the Scottish champions made a brilliant start and were fully deserving of their early lead, which came courtesy of goals from Leigh Griffiths – his ninth of the season – and Kris Commons inside the opening 32 minutes.
However, Fenerbahce were handed a lifeline just before the interval when Efe Ambrose made a mess of his attempted header back to goalkeeper Chris Gordon. Fernandao, who had been subbed on in place of Volkan Sen moments earlier, race in to poke home his first goal of the night.
His second, which you can watch above, arrived four minutes after the half time when he latched onto Nani’s inswinging corner.
