Barcelona confirmed Turan’s £24m transfer to the Nou Camp after he reportedly rejected Premier League offers from United and Chelsea.
In a shock twist, Daily Express reports the Catalan giants have inserted a clause into that could see the Turkish international head back to Atletico Madrid if the new Barcelona president decides against signing Turan.
Barcelona are currently preparing for a presidential election, and should the new man decide against bringing Turan to the Nou Camp, Atletico Madrid has the opportunity to buy back the 28-year-old with a ten per cent discount before July 20.
The current European champions are under a transfer embargo and Turan is not allowed to play for the club until 2016 when the FIFA-imposed ban ends.
It means both Manchester United and Chelsea still have a slim hope of snaring Turan’s signature should Atletico buy the player back and sell him off again.
