The ESPN report, filed by David Ching, quotes the Tuscaloosa (Alabama) Police Department arrest report which was released on Tuesday, which states that Anderson, along with 20-year-old Sierra Patterson were arrested together. Officers learned that after an argument Anderson and Patterson broke out, Patterson keyed and threw change at Anderson’s vehicle and that Anderson then kicked Patterson’s vehicle.
The two were arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence/criminal mischief, and a bond was set at $500.
According to Alabama law, third-degree criminal mischief involves intentional damage to the property of another person in an amount not exceeding $500.
In 2014, Anderson started all 14 games and finished fourth on the team with eight tackles for loss and was third with three sacks to go along with his 22 solo tackles. The Junior linebacker did not start any games in 2014 but is expected to compete for the starting OLB job to replace Senior LB Xzavier Dickson.
Anderson’s arrest, as mentioned before, is a misdemeanor and will not result in serious criminal charges. But after a football season where there was a huge emphasis on reducing domestic violence by football players, any and all incidents will be held closely under the microscope.
