Darrelle Revis has channeled his mercenary attitude into an AFC title ring – can he get a Super Bowl ring too?
With the New England Patriots heading back to the University of Phoenix Stadium for Super Bowl XLIX, it’s time to take a look at the players that will – or should – have the biggest impact in the game.

With 90% of that task completed, Revis is poised to cash in once again if he proves his money’s worth against the Seattle Seahawks and the Legion of Boom.
While Darrelle Revis’ skillset does not make him the best suited for the task of stopping the key cog in the Seahawks offensive machine: RB Marshawn Lynch, he does have the ability to make life extremely miserable for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson by blanketing his best targets on what is known as “Revis Island” – where players that he covers get shut out for most of the game.
Unless Revis Island is open for business and doesn’t leave the University of Phoenix Stadium, the Patriots will have a difficult time winning this game against one of the NFL’s most efficient offenses.
Here are the five most important Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX:
5. WR/PR Julian Edelman – The Swiss army knife of the Patriots offense needs to be able to keep the Seahawks defense honest by mixing it up early and forcing them to adjust whenever he’s in a different position. Edelman will also be the primary punt returner in this game – and for a Seahawks team with a punter as good as Jon Ryan, Edelman will need to use his elusiveness to improve the Patriots field position whenever possible. If the Patriots find themselves deep in their own territory all night they will be hard pressed to get TDs against the Legion of Boom.
