2. TE Rob Gronkowski – The biggest receiver on the field will probably have the biggest impact in this game. In last year’s Super Bowl the Seahawks struggled to stop some of the bigger receivers on Peyton Manning’s Broncos. But Gronk is arguably the best receiver the Seahawks defense will have ever faced – even if he is just a tight end. If Gronk has a big game and can sustain drives with plenty of conversions throughout the game, the Patriots will probably take this game
1. QB Tom Brady – The only way the Patriots win is for Brady to channel his 2001-2004 forms into this game. If Brady gets rattled the game will not go well. Make no mistake: The Legion of Boom is the toughest defense Brady has ever faced in a Super Bowl and they will put him on the ground. So for the Patriots to have even a chance at winning this game Brady needs to have perhaps the best game of his life – not just from a numbers perspective (though it certainly couldn’t hurt to have that too) but from an efficiency standpoint. Brady must be willing to play to win instead of playing not to lose – going for it on 4th-and-short, taking shots at the endzone and trying to sustain plays by moving outside the pocket if necessary.
