But El Hamdaoui says he is happy in Florence.
Fiorentina front man Mounir El Hamdaoui has reacted to reports in his own homeland suggesting that Premier League giants Liverpool could be keen to bring the player to Anfield at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.
The Morocco international only arrived in Florence last summer when he signed with the Serie A club from Eredivisie title holders Ajax, but the 28-year-old has already been linked with a move to Merseyside.
El Hamdaoui has actually already featured in the Premier League before, having played for north London outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers is known to be on the look out for a new centre forward for next season, especially with there being the very real possibility of red-hot Uruguay international Luiz Suarez departing the club this summer, setting up a dream move to the Reds fro the Moroccan.
“Being linked with Liverpool is flattering but I really think it is paper talk so far,” he is quoted as telling Sky Sports above.
“Liverpool are a great club and to play there in a legendary stadium like Anfield would be fantastic and a dream.
“But I am at Fiorentina and I’m happy.”
