Red Devils eye possible summer move for Colombian star.
Manchester United are lining up a big-money move for coveted FC Porto midfield player James Rodriguez at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.
United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson has been keeping close tabs on the highly-skilful Colombia international ever since the 21-year-old arrived in the Portuguese league from Banfield in Argentina three years ago.
And, in the intervening period the wide man has attracted the attentions of a whole host of big-name clubs on the Continent with a series of eye-catching displays for the Portuguese giants, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
This season has been no different, with Rodriquez featuring in 30 matches to date for Porto, and scoring ten goals in the process despite his side trailing leaders and arch-rivals Benfica at the top of the table in Portugal.
However, for Ferguson to land his man this summer, he will need to really splash the cash in order to persuade Rodriquez’s employers to part company with the player, with Porto valuing their star at £25 million plus.
