Serbian starlet expected to held final round of talks over renewal.
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has revealed that he is fed up of the situation surrounding the future of Adem Ljajic.
The 21-year-old failed to agree on a renewal with the Viola after talks earlier this week, and is expected to leave this summer.
With his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle has warned the youngster that he must either accept their offer or be sold as they are keen not to lose him for nothing.
It is understood that the two parties are expected to hold further talks on Tuesday to get a final decision from Ljajic, but Montella has revealed his feelings on the situation ahead of the club’s season opener against Catania on Monday night.
“I’m fed up of this situation,” said the Coach in his Press conference as reported by Football Italia.
“I think he showed something in the second half of last season, receiving in return the support of his teammates, club and Coach. I have neither the time nor the desire to wait for him, seeing as he’s not calm and focused on his work.”
Montella went on to say that the fans are entitled to jeer Ljajic as they have done so during training sessions in recent days, while he is just trying to focus on securing a win on Monday.
Meanwhile, general manager Sandro Mencucci has warned clubs interested in signing Ljajic that they must “behave correctly with us and within the sporting rules” which means speaking with the club before the player.
The Viola have previously been critical of AC Milan’s approach and rejected a €8m bid last month, while the likes of Roma and Atletico Madrid are reportedly also monitoring his situation.
