The players at the biggest international tournament that the Reds want to sign.
After finishing second in the Premier League and therefore returning to the Champions League for the first time in five years, the 2013/14 season has to be regarded as a success for Liverpool.
However, with Brendan Rodgers’ men competing in four competitions next term the manager has recognised the need for recruitment within the squad.
The Reds have already completed the signings of Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, but new players are needed if the Merseyside outfit are to keep up their impressive form.
As always the World Cup is a great platform to spot new talent and here are five players at the 2014 tournament that Rodgers wants to sign on the back of it.
Adam Lallana. England
Having already had a £25m bid for the Southampton captain rejected, an improved offer could be imminent for the 26-year-old if things go well in Brazil.
Lallana has had a brilliant two years in the English top flight with the Saints and is now a key part of Roy Hodgson’s side as well.
