Despite being the most confident man in the history of the world, Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is consistently inconsistent in the goalkeeper position – simultaneously brilliant and error-prone.
It has led to transfer rumours suggesting Arsene Wenger will sign a fellow shot-stopper in January – despite last night’s penalty saves – and here are our top five candidates to join Szczesny at Emirates Stadium.
1. Ali Al-Habsi (Wigan Athletic)
Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi is as capable of the sublime and ridiculous as Szczesny, but his saves frequently verge on the spectacular.
If Arsenal’s goalkeeper coach could ensure he maintained his focus, Al-Habsi could be amongst the best in the league.
His sensational form towards the end of last season certainly helped Wigan Athletic stay in the top flight.
Could he cut it at the highest level?
