Another striker who Chelsea are reported to have made a concrete off for this summer is Emmanuel Emenike, with the Nigerian international possibly set to leave Turkish club Fenerbahce once he returns home from the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Emenike is an explosive performer whose pace and unpredictability would make him a contrasting option to Costa, but where the mooted £16m fee would represent value for money for the former Spartak Moscow man is another matter entirely.
