3. James Taylor
Taylor appears to be England’s forgotten man at the moment. However, on this season’s form, it is difficult to see why England don’t give him an opportunity in the ODI side.
The Nottinghamshire batsman is a stylish player who can often look as graceful as Ian Bell. He is able to score all round the ground and has an excellent cricket brain.
He seems to know when to rotate the strike and when to hit boundaries. However, unlike Bell, Taylor has the power to take a bowling attack apart.
In limited overs cricket, he is a better all round batsman than many in England’s ODI top order. His form this season has also been excellent, especially in the One-Day Cup.
So why has he not been picked? Maybe someone in the England set-up doesn’t rate him but in terms of form and talent, Taylor deserves to get an opportunity in England’s ODI side.
