4. Samit Patel
Patel appears to be another Nottinghamshire batsman who has fallen out of favour with the England selectors. However, unlike Taylor, Patel has been given a good opportunity at international level all ready.
Patel last played for England in 2013 and was dropped despite not doing anything wrong. On the basis of his form this season, it appears that the selectors decision to discard Patel is a bad one.
Patel has been in fine form in all competitions for Nottinghamshire. His form has been particularly impressive in the limited overs competitions.
He has displayed power and an ability to score boundaries at crucial times. If England are going to win the World Cup next year they will need boundaries hitters.
Despite his fitness problems, Patel is still one of the best boundary hitters in England and it might be worth giving him another opportunity to grace international cricket.
